book blurb

Heath Lancaster’s happy to be on the practice squad of a professional football team, but instead of a lucky break taking him to the next level, a league-wide strike leaves him unemployed. Until he finds a new semi-pro league in Virginia Beach, where a bikini-clad hottie snags one of his passes on the beach and offers him a tour of the area . . .

A scandalous affair turned Jordan Walker into media fodder—and in no hurry to get back into the dating game. But the easy going tight end of the new Triton’s team unleashes an inhibited wild streak in her and has her tempting him with a game of her own. But when she finds out who the owner of the Tritons is, she’s wondering if she’ll repeat her mistakes . . .

excerpt

A few minutes later, they arrived at the beach. Inside the bathhouse, Jordan changed into her new suit. Eyeing herself in the mirror, she frowned.

GiGi painted her lips with a coral gloss. “It’s been over a year now, Jordan. No one will recognize you. The media is feeding on some other poor soul now.”

She could only hope.

After making their way to the pier, Jordan checked out the surf zone. Only a few young teens and old dudes on longboards bobbed in the ocean. The surf lacked the exciting swells necessary to attract anyone hot enough for GiGi. She should have relented and gone to Virginia Beach.

“Let’s cruise.” GiGi shouldered her beach bag stuffed with towels, drinks and their cell phones. They sank their toes into the sand at the water’s edge. “Looks like mommies’ day out with the kiddies.” She grumbled.

“Says the huntress.” Jordan kept walking toward the less crowded fishing area hoping to find GiGi something to stalk.

“I want confirmation this new bikini is worth the money.” GiGi thrust out her tits and swayed her hips.

Jordan glanced up, snagging a spiraling football inches from their heads. The ball stung her fingers with a slap.

GiGi squeaked, dropping her bag with their drinks. “Sorry!”

The intended receiver stood in the surf.

“Jesus! My bad!” The passer grimaced.

At least he had the decency to appear embarrassed.

Mr. Sandy Blond rushed from the water toward them. Damn. He had all the attributes of her favorite NFL tight end. Aviator shades hid his eyes. His brawny shoulders tapered to a waist set off by a six-pack.

“You okay?” His gaze followed GiGi’s to the bottles littering the beach. “Oh. Sorry about your drinks. He plucked the brews and wine coolers from the sand. “Wouldn’t open these for a bit.”

GiGi eyed their buff physiques and smirked. “Suppose you’ll have to share yours.” She nodded to their cooler.

“Not a problem.” The dark-haired passer motioned to his beach chair.

But of course, her model-looking friend was always first pick. Jordan handed the ball to the blond. More to her tastes anyway. The stripe on his board shorts accentuated his well-carved butt.

He extended his hand. “Heath.”

“Miller?” Jordan asked. Almost as tall and as muscular as the pro tight-end. A definite hard-body. He might have been threatening-looking if not for his endearing dimples and genuine smile.

He enveloped her hand with a firm grip. “Sorry, no. Lancaster is my last name, but you’d make a heck of a cornerback the way you picked off that pass.”

Electrified by his touch, her thoughts fired in directions she’d been dodging for months. “Jordan, sister to three older brothers. I can tackle, too, if necessary.” She grinned.

He let out a low whistle.

book blurb

She’s a widow. He’s a reformed player. One passionate night changes them both forever.

Toni Harrison isn’t buying anything Ahmad Espen is selling. Everyone considers him the savior of the African American community but she knows him as a heartless player and plans to steer clear of him. The only problem is her sister and Ahmad’s brother are smitten with each other and despite Toni’s attempts otherwise, she constantly finds herself in Ahmad’s presence.

Ahmad understands why Toni is wary of him, but he’s a totally different man from the boy she knew in college. Now he’s determined to push past all her defenses to gain her trust. When he finally does, one passionate night with her confirms she’s the perfect woman for him.

Yet it seems there’s no fairy-tale ending for them, as Ahmad and Toni find out the hard way. Someone is out to destroy their relationship, along with Ahmad’s good name and Toni’s privacy. Once more Toni has good reason to distance herself from Ahmad, since he blames her for the whole mess. Heartbroken again, she walks away, and by the time he comes to his senses, he realizes it may well be too late to rewrite their love story to give it a happy ending.

excerpt

Toni flicked her gaze from her phone to the man standing above her with every intention of telling him the same thing she’d told the others. As soon as she looked up, her heart seized on a beat and her breath formed a lump in her throat. Toni not only stared at who was possibly the finest man she’d ever seen in her life, but also one she hadn’t seen in eleven years.

Ahmad Espen.

A vision of the last time he’d talked to her flashed across her mind and was just what she needed to close her gaping mouth and firm her back. She stared back at him, waiting for…for what exactly? For him to mention what had happened between them? For him to apologize?

He smiled down at her, flashing bright white teeth. “I’m sorry to disturb you, miss. But I saw you sitting all alone back here and thought you could use some company.”

Miss? Company?

She didn’t know if she should be mad or glad. He didn’t seem to recognize her. On one hand, she didn’t have to relive the embarrassment but on the other, he’d dismissed their last encounter, while she’d held onto it for all these years.

“I-I’m…um. I don’t need company.” Did she just stutter? She wanted to slap a hand across her forehead. She gripped her cell phone tightly to stop herself from doing just that and making a bigger fool of herself.

When she’d been a freshman in college and he’d been the sexy and worldly junior, she’d had the same reaction—stumbling, bumbling idiot. Get it together, Toni. She wasn’t a green little girl anymore.

“Well, if you don’t want me to sit with you, can I have this dance?”

If she were any other woman at the party, she would’ve gladly jumped up and taken him up on his offer. But while everyone knew Ahmad as an African-American motivational speaker who’d sprung onto the scene five years before, attracting more followers to his ‘black community self-help’ doctrine, Toni knew him as a promiscuous, rowdy fraternity boy. While Toni admired his topic, the man behind the words often left a bad taste in her mouth. Every time she saw him on television talking about his main agenda, the state of the African American community and the need to revitalize and energize the younger generation, she couldn’t help but remember how he’d treated her. “Why?”

He took a quick glance around. “You’re the only person not on the dance floor or mingling.”

She smiled up at him like she’d done to the other men. Everyone else in the room could worship at his feet. They thought he was so great, so perfect. “No, thank you. I’m watching the drinks and purses,” she said, but what she really wanted to tell him was to go to hell.

The emotion on his face quickly went from enamored to confused. “All I’m asking for is one dance.”

She’d once given him a dance and she’d let that go to her head and let him sweet talk her into his twin-sized bed. Well, there hadn’t really been that much sweet talking involved, it hadn’t been needed. She would’ve gone with him even if he’d recited the alphabet. “I’m not much of a dancer.” The lie quickly fell from her mouth.

“Sooo.” He motioned his hand through the air. “You’re at a singles mingle—dance party, I might add—and you can’t dance?”

As she shook her head, her hair bounced around her face. “No, I can’t. Not a lick.”

“So, that’s your excuse for turning down everyone who asked you to dance?”

She peered straight into his eyes. “Yes.” It was a good thing that she’d long gotten over wanting to poke his eyes out with a rusty fork because he was in arm’s reach and there was a fork, albeit not rusty, on her table.

All he needs is someone demure, and biddable, and most importantly, scandal-free.

She has devoted many years to finding her one true love, desperate to escape the consequences of the family curse if she fails. But she has begun to give up hope.

Then, one evening, a chance encounter with Aphrodite changes everything.

Bestselling historical author Heather Boyd believes every character she creates deserves their own happily-ever-after, no matter how much trouble she puts them through. With that goal in mind, she writes steamy regency romance stories that skirt the boundaries of propriety to keep readers enthralled until the wee hours of the morning. Heather has published thirty novels and shorter works. Catch her latest news http://www.heather-boyd.com. She lives north of Sydney, Australia, and does her best to wrangle her testosterone-fuelled family (including cat Morpheus) into submission.

Award-winning author Barbara Monajem wrote her first story at eight years old about apple tree gnomes. She published a middle-grade fantasy when her children were young, then moved on to paranormal mysteries and Regency romances with intrepid heroines and long-suffering heroes (or vice versa). She lives near Atlanta, Georgia with an ever-shifting population of relatives, friends, and feline strays.

New Zealander Nicola Davidson adores writing witty, erotic, and twisty turny romance, with Regency and Tudor tales under her own name and contemporary as Lani Hughes. When not chained to her computer she loves the beach, history geeking, and cheering on the champion All Blacks rugby team, preferably accompanied by gourmet chocolate and diet soda.

With 16 books published, best-selling author Wendy Vella’s passion for romance novels has grown stronger with every new release. She has multiple ideas running through her head at all times, and loves writing strong heroes and feisty heroines. Humor is her trademark, and mix that with sensuality and intrigue and you have a book that will keep you turning the page until the end.

Beverley Oakley was seventeen when she bundled up her first 500+ page romance and sent it to a publisher. But drowning her heroine on the last page was not in line with the expectations of romance readers so Beverley became a journalist. Since 2009, Beverley has published more than thirteen sizzling historical romances, filled with mystery and intrigue, mostly set in England during the Georgian, Regency and Victoria eras, under the name Beverley Oakley.

Beverley lives near Melbourne opposite a picturesque nineteenth century insane asylum with the handsome Norwegian bush pilot she met while running a safari lodge in Botswana, their two beautiful daughters and a rambunctious Rhodesian Ridgeback the size of a pony. She also writes psychological historicals, and Colonial-Africa- set romantic adventures, as Beverley Eikli.

Donna Cummings has worked as an attorney, a winery tasting room manager, and a retail business owner, but nothing beats the thrill of writing humorously-ever-after romance.

She resides in New England but fantasizes about spending the rest of her days in a tropical locale, wearing flip flops year-round, or in Regency London, scandalizing the ton.

She can usually be found on Twitter talking about writing and coffee, and on Facebook talking about coffee and writing.
